A few important caveats: much of what the US has donated has been accounted for at full present-day replacement cost, not actual value. Hence ancient APCs from the VietNam era are valued at an absurdly inflated amount; in reality they are little more than scrap. Likewise munitions, many past their use-by dates, are being accounted for at full replacement cost in today's dollars. So $75 billion, in reality, hasn't gone to Ukraine. Nearly all has gone to US defense companies to replenish ancient stockpiles. What has gone to Ukraine has for the most part been old and/or restricted in utility.

As for Germany being a European "heavyweight" we need to remember that the chief of the German defense staff stated quite plainly that Germany has precisely no capacity for self-defense today, and the pretend 100 billion Euros promised by Scholtz last year is still fictional, with not a single Euro having been allocated to anything, never mind actually having been spent. Meanwhile Ukraine has no 4th generation fighters and so Russia still enjoys air superiority everywhere, which is a crippling handicap Western "leaders" and babbling Western journalists simply ignore.
