A friend of mine in California many years ago used to lament that while she was perfectly OK with picking up men in bars, most men were intimidated by her open sexuality. She moved to northern Europe and found life significantly easier - the ratio of successes to fearful retreats improved enough that she eventually became a Swedish citizen. I fear however that the reality is most people don't really like sex (they like orgasms, but that's not at all the same thing) and so highly sexual people will always struggle with acceptance regardless of the culture, period, or supposed norms. Whenever you're at the end of a Gaussian distribution of anything, life becomes more complicated.
