A much-needed article, Canguro. Sadly, we’re hardwired by evolution to be lazy and that applies as much to CEOs and heads of organizations as it does to the rest of us. AI is sold as a way to reduce effort, and as such it appeals to those unwilling to do the necessary research required to evaluate the plausibility of the claims being made for various AI systems. The consequences of implementing flawed AI are huge, but unfortunately not born by those who make the lazy decision to implement them. Thus the quagmire gets deeper with every passing day and the unacknowledged harm grows ever greater.
Personally I made a decision some years ago never to pursue any job opportunity with an organization that uses any form of AI in its screening process, on the grounds that it would be too stupid and dysfunctional an organization for me to want to work for.
