After too many years of attempting to discuss the phenomenon of belief with theists, I've come to a simple conclusion: either a brain has the neural hardwiring necessary to follow an irrefutable train of reasoning to its inevitable conclusion, or it doesn't. In my experience at least 80% of the population appears to lack the necessary neural hardwiring and no amount of patient discussion, use of examples, or careful logical progression will be of any use whatsoever. It's a dialog of the deaf best avoided, so that time can be spent more fruitfully elsewhere. Theists remain trapped in their anthropomorphic projections in the same way as a very small child is trapped inside its "me-centric" notion of existence. The only difference is that most children eventually outgrow (to at least a limited degree) their original solipsistic worldview.
