Ah, Kitty, you clearly don't appreciate the beauty of the US model in which people are merely (barely) living trash cans into whom large corporations pour their rubbish in order to generate profits. As a result of consuming endless amounts of garbage, US citizens become very sick, which is great! This means that pharmaceutical corporations can also pour stuff into people's mouths in order to generate profits. And as health care costs are counted toward GDP, all this unhealthy suffering makes the US economy look good too! What's not to love?

I mean, sure, everyone is hugely obese and can barely waddle from sofa to toilet, but so what? Just think of all the lovely revenue they generate as they cram more and more McSlop down their throats and swallow more and more pills in a desperate attempt to feel fractionally less awful. It's a beautiful system; don't you dare criticize it!
