Ah, yes, the imaginary F-16s that Ukraine still doesn't have (we're now in the summer of 2024 which means they've been "coming any day now" for more than a year) and which Ukraine probably can't maintain because they are such fussy maintenance-intensive airframes. Now the F/A-18 is a robust aircraft with all the F-16 capability Ukraine needs but.... the USA won't provide those. Won't even provide F-16s, actually, and won't train more than less than a handful of Ukrainian pilots. Because, remember, we mustn't do anything that would cause Putin to escalate.... Best not to write fiction about what could happen if life were totally different from how it really is. Best to write about reality, which is the West has left Ukraine high and dry because we're spineless morons.
