Alas, modern popular culture is all about creating divisions, resentments, fear, and anger. Consequently absolutely anything can be turned into a "reason" for passive-aggressive behavior. The lesson people imbibe is that being a victim is glorious and the more one complains, the more "authentic" one becomes. The joys of cancel culture are such that few feeble-minded people (e.g. the vast majority) can resist the lure to shriek hysterically at every real and imagined infraction of a constantly mutating notion of Political Correctness.
When I was growing up in Spain, the day after Franco died the beaches were filled with topless women - all in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. For the first time in their lives they were free to feel the sun on their bodies, free of the black head-to-toe garments imposed by the always neurotic and always evil Catholic Church. Unfortunately, from the celebration of the human body that was fairly common back in the 1970s and 1980s, we've returned to the Victorian era, only with a more strident attitude towards supposed infractions. As a result, it is wise for men to look away, because for every one Amanda there are hundreds who've been conditioned to see absolutely every action performed by a man as "visual rape."
