All companies become sclerotic over time as senior personnel focus on maintaining their own benefits by ensuring no one rocks the boat. Google seems to be proceeding down the path trod by many before and may well join the stellar ranks of Kodak, Xerox, Honeywell, DEC, IBM, and so very many others.
