As for sanctions, everyone with a functioning brain understands that sanctions are merely what feeble Western politicians use to pretend they are taking action while in reality doing nothing of importance - which is why sanctions have never, at any time nor in any place, achieved any meaningful result.

Finally, the "patriotic" urge to die for Putin's mindless aggression is standard human behavior, evolved over millions of years of clan-clan conflict and only strong-willed intelligent people can resist the impulse (e.g. 99% of the population cannot). So Putin has an almost inexhaustible supply of bodies to use to soak up Ukrainian materiel, after which he presumes his rag-tag shambolic military can stumble back into Ukraine because they will be essentially unopposed as they clamber over the rotting corpses of their fallen comrades.
