As a satire, many years ago I created the Coating Fat Diet. Coating fats, such as found in ice-cream, donuts, fried food, etc. are good for you because they coat unwanted calories and let them slip harmlessly through your digestive tract. Cellular fats, such as found in meat & fish, are bad for you because they make you fat as they are absorbed into your cells. I never published the book because I knew most people would take it as gospel. The hard truth is that most people are almost entirely incapable of discerning fantasy from reality, incapable of understanding the basics of empiricism, and unable to prevent themselves from being endlessly credulous. That's why populism triumphs over reason, and why we live in the world as it is today.
