As human population numbers are projected to decline after the middle of this century, and as it's not a hard requirement for people to consume ever-more resources in ever-more wasteful ways, your core argument fails. The idea that we can simply move our stupidity to other planets is naive, not only because it's technically infeasible (the failure of any key system would mean instant death, and who wants to live trapped inside a fragile shell for their entire lives?) but mainly because people are so stupid that we'd inevitably bring everything crashing down on our heads. The only reason we haven't exterminated ourselves on Earth (yet) is because of luck, and because even with the worst human-created disasters, we're evolved to survive on Earth. Take ordinary human stupidity, selfishness, and sheer ignorance, put them inside a fragile artificial environment, and what do you get? Hint: not a successful outcome.
