As the UK military no longer has the capacity even to defend the Isle of Wight, the idea that the UK will in any way make a difference is hilarious. And we need to remember what UK promises are worth: in 1994 the UK, along with the USA and Russia, signed a binding commitment to guarantee Ukrainian territorial integrity. When Putin sent his military to invade Ukraine twice in 2014 and again in 2022, the UK did.... precisely nothing at all.

In other words, while the UK may pretend to be a player on the world stage in order to make UK citizens think Brexit didn't totally flush the nation down the toilet of history, the reality is that the UK is too feeble and too indecisive for any meaningful action in any realm of life.
