As we've waited until it's far too late for the trickle of MBTs to appear on the battlefield, the chances are that by the time the first handful arrive, they won't last long. The reason is because Ukraine's air defenses are almost exhausted and the Russian air force is increasingly able to achieve local air superiority. This will soon become Ukraine-wide and the result will be to turn the few Western tanks that are delivered (we're great at making promises, not so great at actually following through...) will just be targets for Russian fighters and attack helicopters. Nine months ago, Western tanks in sufficient numbers would have made a strategic difference. By the time the first few show up, they will make no difference whatsoever.
