As years of experience accumulate I perpetually downgrade my expectations of humanity but even so I find it simply incomprehensible that so many are so easily duped. Perhaps if the average person spent a little more time learning about important aspects of reality and far, far less time credulously lapping up whatever nonsense is promulgated by brainless celebrities, Russia and North Korea and China, to name but three players, would have slightly less ease creating fear and discord. Perhaps if our educational systems were better at teaching students to think as opposed to memorizing information for the purposes of passing unsuitable tests, people wouldn’t be so empty-headed when they reach adulthood. As it is, we can confidently expect a huge number of simple-minded people always to be nothing more than passive sponges ready to soak up and then repeat the most abject nonsense, and for this nonsense reliably to cause significant harm.
