Crap fiction tends to suffer from obvious flaws regardless of the gender of the author. Pulp romance fiction, for example, tends to be written by women for women and all the characters are (at best) one-dimensional. Male protagonists are tall, dark-haired, with smoldering eyes and broad chests and muscular arms and their only neural activity appears to be devoted entirely to devoting themselves entirely to the heroine of the novel.
