Cultural Appropriation
A sad example of human mental limitations
If it weren’t for the facts that (i) I’m all too aware of human cognitive limitations, and (ii) Politically Correct babble has a toxic corrosive effect on far too much of society, I’d think that all the mindless PC nonsense that’s been so fashionable for the last several years had been invented for the sole purpose of keeping me entertained in my old age.
Alas, PC babble is merely one more indicator of how most humans just use the brain as ballast to stop their heads from bobbing around when they walk. So with this in mind and with the bar therefore set deep into a trench dug far below ground level, let’s consider the amusing but hopelessly stupid notion of Cultural Appropriation.
Let’s begin with the notion of Culture, which dates back less than two centuries and arose out of the need of colonists to justify the various barbarisms they inflicted on the supposed “lesser races” they had conquered. What is culture? According to Wikipedia: Culture (/ˈkʌltʃər/ KUL-chər) is a concept that encompasses the social behavior, institutions, and norms found in human societies, as well as the knowledge, beliefs, arts, laws, customs, capabilities, and habits of the individuals in these groups.
