Dating can be stressful, boring, or (often) unintentionally funny. My attitude is one of optimism tempered by the knowledge that I've enough scar tissue not to worry about being hurt or embarrassed. Sometimes you get an anecdote out of the experience, sometimes you meet someone you're glad to have encountered. But no one owes anyone anything except courtesy.
