Duolingo seems to be an app aimed at people who are just beginning to learn a new language. I've been using it for the last 106 days. I'm learning Spanish, and using it to keep up my Russian and French. Yes, it's basic and you have to go elsewhere for more advanced learning opportunities, but as a "starter package" it is far superior to most other options I've encountered over the years.
