Dyson Sphere Post-Project Report
How we failed to spot the obvious until it was too late
Note: this Report was found on the object QC2047Z0606 which was intercepted by the probe Last Gasp 7 on 6th June 2047, the final space mission for which we had resources after the global devastation of World War III which began on 24th February 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine and ended on 19th May 2031 with the exchange of intercontinental ballistic nuclear weapons between India and China, North Korea and the USA, Russia and the USA, and Iran and Saudi Arabia.
The Report has been translated into English so as to permit comprehension of this communication from another technologically advanced civilization we believe used to exist around the star FL730/28 approximately thirty-six million years ago.
To whoever may read this at some point in the future, this is the Post-Project Report on our attempt to construct a Dyson Sphere. As the only technology-capable species currently in existence on our side of the galaxy and certainly the only one to have escaped total self-annihilation (albeit mostly because one set of our stupidities canceled out the other) we managed to reach a point in our technological prowess where some of our people believed it was time to attempt the greatest achievement of all: harness the entire energy output of our sun.
