Even worse, much of the electricity used to charge EVs comes from hydrocarbon-burning power stations, so we’re not even reducing CO2 emissions. Oh, and those lithium-ion batteries are (i) highly toxic, and (ii) not recyclable at the end of their 5-year life. So we’re adding a lot of toxic waste to the landfills of the world as well. EVs are marketing hype, nothing more, and it’s a shame people are so easily misled.
