First of all, Musk is an infantile halfwit so it's hardly surprising he knows little and understand less. Secondly, EVs assume an infrastructure that isn't there and for which there's no obvious financial incentive. Think of all the additional power stations, a total upgrading of the transmission grid, and... all those folk who don't have garages or fixed private parking spaces where they can conveniently recharge their vehicles overnight. EVs are the product of thought-free hype, which is why sales are nowhere near what foolish execs in the auto industry thought they would be by now. The real world simply isn't prepared for an EV future and it's unclear how that will change.
