First of all, there's no way the ancient HAWK system would make any difference, even if additional units were sent. But the most important thing is this: there is something irredeemably crippled about the USA when pundits begin to scrabble in the dirt for pathetically inadequate stopgap non-solutions to a problem the USA could in theory, but alas not in practice, end overnight. Instead, there is the far from edifying sight of Biden persistently prevaricating, doddering, and procrastinating while the neofascist dictator-adoring Republicans resolutely block all assistance to Ukraine because they are desperate for their beloved Putin to conquer Ukraine and turn it into a rubble-strewn gulag.

This is the fundamental problem, and pretending ancient air defense systems would make any difference at all is beyond delusional.
