Given that the various lockdowns implemented around the world have clearly demonstrated that white-collar jobs can be done from home just as well as, or usually far better than, in the office it is bizarre to think that the "solution" to vehicle pollution is to commute in EVs instead of fossil fuel powered vehicles. EVs are hugely polluting when total lifecycle costs are accounted for; much better not to commute in any sort of vehicle at all unless absolutely necessary. A tax on corporate office space would massively reduce CO2 emissions instantly; EVs will do little until all electricity is generated from renewables - and even then the pollution caused by mining, smelting, and manufacturing will still be very significant.
