Given the latency problem with validation, and given all the other issues with blockchain (such as tps bottlenecks) I wonder if you could write another article that gives examples of real-world problems that can’t be solved adequately by regular technologies? Or, to put it conversely, is there even one single real-world problem that can only be solved with a blockchain component? Let’s remember that trillions of dollars change hands daily using standard enterprise technologies; millions of passenger-miles are delivered using traditional enterprise systems; gigawatts of power are sent down the wire using legacy systems. To be honest I can’t think of a single real-world problem that absolutely requires blockchain to be either (i) more resilient, or (ii) faster, or (iii) more efficient, than the wealth of technology options already tried & proven. So I genuinely would love to learn of even one problem category that absolutely requires blockchain. Right now it still feels like 99% hype in search of a role somewhere, anywhere, please….
