The supposedly wondrous applications of LLMs have been to date for the most part rather boring. Project managers asking for a project plan. Call centers hoping to make life fractionally less unpleasant for customers trying to resolve their problems. Indolent students asking for essays so they don’t have to distract themselves from their TikTok addiction.

But surely we can do better than this? Given the horrific costs of the hardware, the training, and executing the responses to inputs, why not help burn electricity in a more imaginative way?

Here are just a few suggestions of how to have a lot more fun with ChatGPT and other generative LLMs than creating a meeting agenda to discuss whether or not to add a little more sugar to Diabetes-Cookies, the snack everyone loves to love!

For example: “ChatGPT, write a heist novel in the style of George Eliot, referencing quantum gravity, Kantian philosophy, a stray dog, and four rapidly-melting ice-cream sundaes one of which believes it is the reincarnation of the stoic philosopher and Emperor of Rome: Marcus Aurelius.”

“ChatGPT, explain Einstein’s field equations in two words, one of which must be sunburn.”
