Henryk, thank you so much for both excellent content and a lucid writing style (unlike that of Zuboff, who inevitably hides behind jargon in order to disguise the paucity of her central argument). It is sadly the case that since the 1960s, academia has been largely the domain of lefty-trendy types who eagerly embrace trite formulations and reinforce a general intellectual indolence that leads to a great many idle prejudices being incorporated into the standard curriculum. As academics are responsible for hiring other academics, this culture has become so self-reinforcing as to be practically impenetrable. Unfortunately this means that spurious and superficial arguments are promulgated and accepted while more coherent and intellectually rigorous analyses are either never performed or, if performed, are suppressed in the name of Political Correctness.

It is a great irony of history that no one is around to defend civilized values today. The right is accomplishing the power-grab they’ve dreamed of for decades and the left is busy tearing itself apart over trivial differences in dogma. Everywhere we see the triumph of unreason; on the right such simple-mindedness is lauded for what it is (a pure and ruthless amoral power-play) while on the left muddled thinking is dressed in the pseudo-respectable garb of self-indulgent academia.
