Humor aside, I fail to understand why people imagine California splits north/south. In reality, the split is between a narrow strip of land reaching from the coast to roughly 20 miles inland, and the rest of the State. In the narrow strip is 90% of the economic value and 99% of the educated population; the rest is agriculture, hidden meth labs, and other firm redoubts of Republican-voting folk such as the soulless suburbs and malls of Orange County.
