I can't see Germany "stepping into a leadership role." Not only is its self-imposed budget cap preventing even the most rudimentary defense spending (that promised 100 billion euros was a Trump-style promise) but with the continued rise of AfD and the even more rapid rise of Wagenknecht (both very pro-Russia) there's zero chance any German politician is going to risk losing a handful of votes by acting even quasi-decisively on Ukraine. Appeasement and capitulation will be Germany's path. The UK is a joke, having nothing to give (please ready RUSI's assessment of the UK's total lack of any military capability). Poland can only protect Poland. Ukraine deserved far better than what we gave it, but apparently Westerners are too busy cramming McSlop down their throats and gawping at mindless entertainments on their flickering shiny screens to recognize massive existential threat when it looms over them.
