I concur entirely that it is essential to review the underlying data for any claim, and that Wikipedia is basically a place you can go to get a convenient clustering of citations. That is not, however, the same as conflating Wikipedia with “the Internet.” One ought always to be careful about over-stating one’s position, especially in an article as thoughtful as yours.
