I concur that blockchain is a solution looking for a problem and to date there’s been no real success. For every much-hyped blockchain effort there’s already a perfectly adequate (and in most cases far more adequate than blockchain) solution. But your title was about crypto, which is actually something very different. The entire world depends on cryptography, and crypto works very well. It’s a shame to conflate the two, because crypto will be around for decades whereas blockchain will be merely an embarrassing footnote in the annals of tech history. Best not to confuse the two terms.
