I continue to be saddened by the fact it appears impossible for US citizens to look at SARS-CoV2 with any perspective other than political alliance. Here's the reality: Trump is a repellent moron who owes his election to 43 million low-IQ voters who don't grasp the simply fact they're being gulled by a blustering incompetent charlatan. Their tiny minds are capable only of repeating whatever slogans he feeds them. But that does not therefore mean that SARS-CoV2 is an existential threat. For some reason liberals in the USA have decided that if Trump is downplaying covid-19 they must consequently inflate it by absurd proportions.

Here's the truth: SARS-CoV2 is not a political phenomenon. It's a biological phenomenon. And all the data we have shows very clearly that more than 99.9% of the population has absolutely nothing to fear. Even the worst-hit nations have experienced a per capita mortality rate of well under one-tenth of one percent. Furthermore, as population-wide testing is being carried out in several nations it's becoming apparent that more than 90% of infections are totally asymptomatic (WHO data, August 2020). Scaremongering in the name of Political Correctness does nothing to help anyone, and certainly does nothing whatsoever to disabuse Trump supporters of their many delusions.
