I couldn't possibly agree more with the sentiments expressed in this article. Sadly, reason and facts have little purchase on the average person because we live primarily in a fantasy-world in which movies are real life, invisible magical pixies control the universe, and prayer is efficacious. The USA will continue to have more gunshot deaths per year than most war zones because no one understands that buying a gun does not automatically turn them into an invincible Squint Eastward. The pathetic fantasy that guns = freedom is so contemptible that it's impossible to mock it sufficiently.
