I fear the outcome will be far worse than you imagine. Russia simply has to hold on until 21st January 2025 when the creature Trump will waddle back into the White House and promptly hand Ukraine to Putin on a tawdry Trump-branded platter. That is, if the Republican Party hasn't done so before then. Without US aid, Ukraine can't even sustain a defensive battle and it is increasingly clear that the MAGA crowd will do everything possible to choke of any further aid. So, as European NATO members have zero capacity to do anything, even if their "leaders" had more than zero spinal columns among them, it's clear that Ukraine will rapidly cease to have meaningful defensive capability. By 2026 Ukraine will be a huge gulag and Russians will be committing Bucha-style atrocities across the entire nation. The USA will of course be oblivious because "news" organizations have no interest in stories that would reduce ad revenues and US citizens don't want to hear about how they once again failed totally to defend US interests.
