I gave up TV more than 30 years ago and like you I found this was simply inconceivable for most people. At parties people would ask, "what do you think about X?" and I'd reply, "I don't know what X is because I don't have a TV." And they'd invariably say, "Right, yeah, but, didn't you love that episode last week?"
