I genuinely can't tell if this is slightly improved pro-Russian trolling with a new talking point, or just amazingly stupid. First of all, we know from history that appeasement never works. Secondly, Putin has invaded Ukraine three times now; there's zero reason to imagine that after a suitable period of rearming, he wouldn't order yet another invasion. Next up, Russia already occupies a huge swathe of Ukraine over and above Crimea - this is conveniently ignored in the article. Fifthly, Russian forces have committed endless atrocities in occupied regions, so permitting them to remain would be to condone crimes against humanity.

All in all, the argument made in this article goes beyond normal idiocy and ends up being not only stupid but morally abhorrent.
