I may be a statistical anomaly but I’ve never encountered a European woman who cared about how many people I’ve slept with, and as a European it would never occur to me to ask anyone the question. When I lived in the USA for 27 years I did get asked a couple of times, but as I never asked the question perhaps it was obvious that I simply didn’t care. I’m interested in people, not statistics. Furthermore I’ve known women who were obviously experienced yet awful in bed and vice-versa; I’m sure the same is true in reverse and that there are men who’ve had sex with many women yet who are abysmal and perhaps a few men who are relatively inexperienced yet naturally quite good lovers.

Perhaps if we focused on each other, rather than on abstractions, we’d all be a little happier.
