I rather suspect that history will record the Senate's craven acquittal of Trump in January 2020 as the definitive moment when the USA turned down the one-way road to tyranny. Biden's single term will merely slow the process fractionally, but the end-state is now inescapable. Which means that US history will paint Trump white (rather than his odd shade of orange) and the mob as patriots.
