I rather suspect that looking for accurate and informative content in the entertainments that flash across our shiny screens is akin to looking for subtlety and micro-nutrients in a McSlop burger. Entertainments are aimed at mass audiences, and mass audiences wish merely to sit down, gawp, and be diverted by empty spectacle. Should one desire to learn a little about someone else's life, a slightly more reliable source is generally biographies, but they are delivered as books and it seems that reading books has fallen from fashion in recent decades.
