I spent 27 years living in, and traveling & working across, the USA and the only changes I'd make to your article would be to add more negative points. It's a spectacular country thanks to its geology, and many of the people are wonderful, but it is easily the most brutal, dysfunctional, and hideously irrational nation I've ever lived in. As the USA is isolated by geography and so few US citizens ever really experience a foreign land (tourists are just whizzing from one photo backdrop to another and know nothing about the places they briefly visit) the vast majority of US citizens have no idea how backward the place is. They think "socialism" is the work of the devil and that everyone should live in fear of random shooting incidents. They imagine that becoming bankrupt due to illness is normal, and that grotesque levels of obesity are a testimony to how great the USA truly is. As such, there's practically no pressure for any positive change and as the Republican Party is now effectively a neo-fascist-theocratic organization dedicated to seizing power by any means available, it's pretty clear that ten years from now the situation will be far, far worse.
