I think it's long past time the moronic statement about there being no atheists in foxholes was retired to the same graveyard as "intelligent design" and "the great chain of being." Fact is, as anyone who's ever had any interactions with European SF operators will know well, there are and always will be plenty of atheists in situations of extreme danger who never feel the slightest impulse to babble midnlessly about invisible magical pixies.
