I wonder if Google has sent the memo to its HR people, who (last time I knew anything about their hiring process) seem forever to focus on technical skills to the exclusion of pretty much everything else. Which is why for a long time Google was famous for acquiring companies in order to get talent: their internal recruitment process was broken beyond belief as a result of using HR instead of a more adequate approach.
