If Russian society cannot be reformed - which it cannot - then the only way to reduce the problem is to ensure that Putin's military is exterminated. Once this is accomplished, Russia will fragment into several fiefdoms, each ruled by a thuggish overlord focused primarily on asset-stripping whatever they can so as to boost the contents of their Swiss bank accounts. As is the way of such thugs, they will end up fighting each other, further reducing any latent threat posed to the West.

NATO and our "leaders" however are so terrified of the idea of Russian first-use of nuclear weapons that it is extremely likely Putin will in fact, in a year or two, end up installing a puppet regime in Kyiv and turning Ukraine into a huge gulag - one that abuts the European Union.

Were we less stupid and spineless, we'd opt for the only rational course of action and make Putin's vapid lies about "Russia is fighting all of NATO!" come true. Instead, we'll turn away, watch Ukraine go under, and hope that even more appeasement will enable us to finish our next Netflix series in some semblance of peace.
