I'm going to title my next Medium article: "Don't Read This Story, And Your Hair Will Fall Out!" Doubtless it will be my most successful effort to date for precisely the reasons you elucidate. It's also the reason populism/patriotism is always without exception so terribly destructive. We're such fools for a negative message.
