I'm not sure the term "peaceniks" is relevant or appropriate. It seems to me that the "America (actually, the USA, as Canada and Mexico don't seem to be part of the equation here) is always wrong" brigade aren't particularly interested in peace so much as interested in participating in a displaced psychological struggle against daddy. Yes, the USA has on far too many occasions done extremely stupid and harmful things. But compared to the evil wrought by Russia today, the USA is a dirty angel. Compared to Stalin even the most vile, moronic, and incompetent US president (hello, Fat Donald) is actually nothing more than a whining harmless baby. The reason so many feel so ready to attack the USA is because fundamentally they believe it will remain firmly in place regardless, which is the same psychology tantrum-ridden infants display. They may scream and stamp their feet, but they do so in the confidence that the parent won't evaporate and leave them alone and utterly defenseless in a cold, harsh, and uncaring world.
