I'm not sure your reaction had much to do with his views differing from yours. We all have finely-tuned detectors of fitness. Yours were initially reacting to his physiology and then additional markers of fitness such as knowledge of wine, which is a proxy for intelligence (albeit a very imperfect proxy). And then... he showed you that he was intellectually crippled. As such, you reacted appropriately, because none of us want to mix our genes with someone who's clearly suffering from a major defect. He doesn't have "different views" from you; rather, he's cognitively impaired. And that's a trait that repels, unless of course one happens to be similarly impaired.
