I'm unclear whether the premise of the article can be supported by facts. While it's clear that a tiny number of screaming neurotics have decided to pretend JKR is "transphobic" it is entirely unclear whether (i) a majority of such shouty attention-seekers are in fact male, and (ii) how this in any way would be related to the conveniently undefined abstraction "the patriarchy."

In reality, it seems that the neurotics are in fact found carrying both XY and XX chromosomes in the 23rd pair. It's much simpler to accept that in our modern world of endless sensationalism, there's money to be made promoting mindless babble provided it is offensive and stupid. This has nothing to do with "the patriarchy" (whatever that may be) and everything to do with dollars. But sensible people ignore screaming neurotics, just as we ignore the mutterings brain-addled junkie babbling senselessly on the street corner of some rundown part of the city. When people make no sense, there's no point paying attention to their words.
