I'm unconvinced by the argument. The only social media I use is LinkedIn, and at most visit four times per year, generally to give colleagues good recommendations. I stopped my very occasional trips to Facebook because it's very boring - who cares what people post there? As for SnapGram etc. I've never downloaded any of them. Medium is the only social media site I visit regularly, and only because of some extraordinary content written by people with measurable IQs. My lack of social media presence hasn't hindered my career or personal relationships in any way and, in all likelihood, has considerably improved them thanks to the fact I don't waste time on vapid nonsense but instead focus on things that really matter.
