in 2018 the USA saw more than 56,000 cases of SWAT teams being deployed. Incidents included throwing a stun grenade into a baby's crib, resulting in horrific damage to the child - the SWAT team threatened to shoot the terrified mother because she desperately wanted to get to her maimed baby. The SWAT team had smashed their way into the wrong house. In another incident a SWAT officer shot dead an 86 year old man in his bed, then shouted "don't shoot!" This was to serve a parking ticket.

It is more than apparent the militarization of the US police has reached insane levels. The story here is an example of how death doesn't always follow a SWAT raid, but far too frequently it does.
