Induction stove tops are a catastrophically stupid idea. They don't work well even when you have the requisite pots & pans, the surface remains hot so it's not a safety feature, and they are highly fault-prone. Whoever invented the induction stove top should have a very large and very spiky cactus inserted deep into their nether passage as a condign punishment.
