It is a great shame that evolution isn't really taught in schools, and so hardly anyone grasps how important a concept it truly is. If people actually understood evolution, we wouldn't be subject to as much empty-headed babble as is actually the case. People tend to substitute their inane wishes for real-world facts, no matter how implausible their ideas may happen to be. Attraction is central to mating choice so it is impossible for our preferences not to be the result of hundreds of thousands of years of selection pressure. This is why women everywhere, at every time, have preferred tall men over short men. It's why every human finds symmetrical features more attractive than asymmetrical features. It's why men find pulchritude attractive and why women prefer fit men over flabby men. Anyone who pretends this is just the result of "social norms" or "the patriarchy" is failing to grasp the most basic concepts necessary for the understanding of real-world human behavior.
